Palazzo Falson's 2008 Christmas calendar of activities included two sessions of readings for children.
The first session was held on the 14th December 2008, during which Ellen Beunderman held a reading in English for a sizable group of children. The reading was further animated with an impromptu little sketch in which the children acted out the Christmas-themed poem that was being read out to them.
A reading in Maltese was held on the 20th December, with highly acclaimed author Trevor Zahra. Clearly intrigued by the readings, the children were able to ask several questions and they also shared their experiences of crib-making, 'priedki tal-Milied' and poems. During the readings the children were presented with fun worksheets to take home with them.
The next event will be held on the 27th December. It is an art-making workshop, organised and led by Valentina Lupo, which will run throughout the day. The subject of the workshop will be illuminated manuscripts and initials. Participation by children, between 6 to 12 years old, and all materials to be used are completely free of charge.
